#welcometomyjourney #comealongforthiscrazyride

Welcome to my very first post! I'm excited to get started and share my journey from debut novelist to (fingers crossed) published author with all of you. It has been a lifelong dream to see my novel on a bookstore shelf amidst the cozy mystery authors I've enjoyed reading for years. I'm going to come clean right up front, though. I'm not only a novice writer, but I know next to nothing about the world of blogging. With that being said, I hope you will come along with me on this journey, because I could definitely use the support and the company. Welcome to my journey to the bookstore shelf, and please come along for the ride!

I heard somewhere that there are no hard and fast rules about blogging, so I guess I'll jump in by introducing myself. My name is Jodi. I'm a daughter, sister, aunt, wife, teacher, and "fur mommy" to the sweetest miniature schnauzer named Abbey. Sadly, we lost her sweet sister Hayley this past Labor Day which broke our hearts. (More about those two fur babies later). I have also written my first cozy mystery novel, MURDER BY THE BOOKS, and I am currently working to get my book published. Here's a bit of a teaser for you.

Jillian always dreamed of opening a children’s bookstore and now that dream was about to come true. She thought nothing could possibly go wrong until her friend, Maggie, is murdered right in front of her beloved bookstore! Maggie’s death plunges Jillian smack dab in the middle of a murder investigation and brings love knocking on her door. As the bodies begin piling up, Jillian’s own life is threatened by the killer not once, but twice. In the end, Jillian must face her fears and her friend’s murderer one last time. Despite the danger Jillian faces, love finds a way to shine through the evil.

Sounds good, right? I think so, but my opinion is probably a bit biased. Many of my family and friends thought it was really good, too. So with their encouragement, I accepted the challenge of finding an agent that thinks my novel is good enough to take me on as a client. And thus, my journey to the bookshelf began.

Well, that's it for today. There's a little gray dog that needs some attention from her mama. I hope to see you back again soon for the next chapter of "My Journey to the Bookshelf.

Thanks for coming along on this crazy ride!

Jodi
